Itinerary
Day 1: Home > Antananarivo
Today we arrive at the airport of Antananarivo. Upon arrival we will meet our local team and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Antananarivo > Ambositra
After breakfast, set off along National Road No. 7, stopping in Ambatolampy to visit its renowned foundry, famous for producing aluminum kitchenware, sculptures, and other handcrafted items. Continue the journey to Antsirabe, the capital of the Vakinankaratra region, known for its thermal springs, cool climate, and scenic landscapes. Arrive in Ambositra by late afternoon, ready to explore this charming town.

Day 3: Ambositra > Ambalavao
Start the day with a visit to the handicraft market in Ambositra, known for its exquisite wood carvings and traditional Malagasy crafts. Then, continue your journey south to Ambalavao, the gateway to the South. Upon arrival, meet your trek guides in the evening for a briefing on the exciting adventure ahead.

Day 4: Ambalavao > Namoly > Miora Avaratra > Antanantsoa (Trek day 1)
Aux Bougainvillées Hotel is home to the Antemoro paper factory, where you can discover the art of this unique traditional craft. A small on-site store offers handmade souvenirs while supporting local artisans.
After visiting the workshop, we depart from Ambalavao and head toward Namoly. Upon arrival in the Namoly Valley (1,400m), our trek begins with a five-hour ascent to the Miora Avaratra site. Located at 1,987m, this area is covered in natural forest and home to lemurs, chameleons, and other wildlife. A beautiful natural swimming pool also awaits explorers.
In the afternoon, we trek down to our first campsite in Antanantsoa (1,470m), near the Namoly Valley, where we settle in for the night.

Day 5: Antanantsoa > Andriampotsy (Trek day 2)
Today is a more challenging day as we trek uphill to reach our next campsite at 2,100m above sea level. Along the way, we take a break to explore fascinating caves and, if desired, enjoy a refreshing dip in a natural pool. From there, it’s another hour of trekking before we arrive at our campsite in Andriampotsy.

Day 6: Andriampotsy > Pic Boby > Andranolava (Trek day 3)
Today, we embark on the climb to Boby Peak (2,658m), a 2.5-hour ascent leading to breathtaking panoramic views. After taking in the stunning scenery, we begin a 2-hour descent back to Base Camp. Following a well-earned lunch break, we continue trekking for another 1.5 hours to reach our final campsite at Andranolava.

Day 7: Andranolava > Iataranomby > Tsaranoro (Trek day 4)
After breakfast, we traverse a stunning lunar landscape before beginning our descent toward Iantaranomby Camp, a journey of approximately three hours. From there, we continue downhill for another four hours, arriving in Tsaranoro, nestled in the heart of ‘Dream Valley.’ Here, we unwind in a simple yet comfortable lodge.

Day 8: Tsaranoro > Ranomafana
Leaving Tsaranoro, we journey through scenic highlands and rolling plains, passing traditional villages and the lively town of Ambalavao. Stop in Fianarantsoa to explore the city. Originally a royal town, Fianarantsoa became an administrative center in 1830 under colonial rule. Its name, meaning ‘good education’ in Malagasy, reflects its historical role as a hub of learning. After lunch, we continue the road. As we approach Ranomafana, the landscape shifts to lush tropical forest, marking our arrival in this renowned biodiversity hotspot.

Day 9: Visit of Ranomafana National Park
After breakfast, set off with a local guide to explore Ranomafana National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2007. Home to 15 endemic lemur species, the park also features abundant streams, some with naturally hot water. A visit to Ranomafana offers a unique chance to experience Madagascar’s incredible biodiversity and observe rare wildlife in their natural habitat.

Day 10: Ranomafana > Antsirabe
Leaving Ranomafana, we journey north through rolling hills and lush valleys, passing picturesque rice terraces and traditional Betsileo villages. We pass again through Ambositra, renowned for its exquisite Zafimaniry wood carvings. Continuing our drive, we arrive in Antsirabe by late afternoon, a charming town known for its colonial architecture, thermal springs, and colorful rickshaws.

Day 11: Antsirabe > Antananarivo
After breakfast, let’s have a rickshaw tour of the city of Antsirabe, it’s a fantastic way to explore the city and immerse in its unique atmosphere. You can visit the historic buildings, local markets, and charming colonial architecture, or places like Place de l’Indépendance, a central square surrounded by cafes and shops. Drive back to Antananarivo.

Day 12: Antananarivo > Home
